Rev. Becky Malke

Merry Meet! I am Becky Malke, a minister/priestess with Circle Sanctuary, spiritual educator, and interfaith leader dedicated to creating sacred and inclusive spaces for learning and community. My journey began in the Roman Catholic tradition, where I was baptized, raised, and confirmed. In high school, I discovered Nature Spirituality, specifically Wicca, which has remained at the core of my life ever since, guiding me through both joys and challenges.

I hold a bachelor’s degree in Comparative Studies in World Religions with a minor in print journalism from the University of Wisconsin- Eau Claire and my path has taken me from reporting on diverse faith traditions to volunteering in India, where I experienced Hindu rituals and interfaith dialogue firsthand.

For nearly two decades, I have served in religious education and faith development roles across Unitarian Universalist, United Church of Christ, Pagan, and Quaker communities. My work has included creating original curricula (Bible Garden), leading workshops during Advent and Lent, as well as workshops on prayer, simplicity and women and religion. In addition, I’ve planned intergenerational events that nurture spiritual growth for children, youth, and adults.

Interfaith engagement has always been central to my ministry. I’ve attended the past three Parliament of the World’s Religions events, and before an international audience I have taken part in leading a public ritual. I’ve hosted a public Pagan/Christian dialogue event in Madison, WI, and have led visits to churches, mosques, gurdwaras, temples, and synagogues. I believe that meeting our religious neighbors not only deepens understanding of other traditions but also strengthens our own.

While I honor the beauty in many of the world’s faith traditions, I hold to the Unitarian Universalist principle that everyone has a right to search for truth and meaning. I’m not here to teach you what I believe, but to walk alongside you as you discover and develop your own spirituality. I began my journey alone, but you don’t have to. Together, we can explore and figure it out together.
